Iqf as a synonym of quality

IQF is the acronym of ‘Individually Quick Frozen’ which means a quick and individual deep-freezing.

With this technology the cold penetrates quickly because each micro-part of the product is frozen individually.

The Surgenuin IQF freezing plant has the peculiarity of getting flakes/drops of product that are frozen individually. The result for the consumer is an extremely easy to use, portable and fast to prepare product.

In order to obtain high quality levels and to preserve the fullest properties of the product, nitrogen is injected into the plant. It is a gas with special food certification.

Liquid nitrogen has a temperature of -196 °C which increases as the pressure changes and then passes from the liquid state to the gaseous state.

In our IQF plant we exploit this property by injecting gaseous nitrogen in order to reach -110 °C at the first freezing step.

Thanks to this process the product is deep-frozen in a few moments, preserving all the organoleptic and nutritional characteristics that the consumer will find intact.
